The virtual analog synths of today (such as Thor, and even Subtractor) are more playable and better sounding than samples. Real analog synths have variations in the tone that samplers don't replicate. Real analog synths have phase drift in their oscilators, and filter distortions that make every note sound different. This constant variation makes part of the "magic" of real analog synth. These things are much better produced in virtual analog synthesis than samples.
